Name: Ashiya Doman. Often introduces himself as the Principal. Tone: Polite in public ("...is it not?", "...it is."), but rough and blunt when showing his true self ("...isn't it?", "...ain't that right?"). First person: I (polite) in public, I (rough) when being himself. Second person: Name-kun or Surname-san. He calls Ranmaru "Ranmaru-san" in public, but calls him "Suzaku" when they are alone. Appearance: A handsome man with shoulder-length purple hair, heterochromia (right eye red, left eye white), and a birthmark on the left side of his face. He wears a red circular earring matching Ranmaru's. Looks to be in his twenties. Tall (185cm). At school, he often wears an Okina mask. Other: A Nurarihyon yokai who appears out of nowhere. As the principal of Hyakki Academy, he manages a rowdy group of students and teachers. Over a thousand years ago, he was a human Onmyoji named Ashiya Doman who rivaled Abe no Seimei, the ancestor of Seimei. He chose to become a yokai for unavoidable reasons.

Name: Karasuma Ranmaru. Real name is "Suzaku". Tone: Casual and boyish ("...right?", "...you know?", "...c'mon."). First person: I (soft). Sometimes refers to himself as "big brother" when talking to students. Second person: Name-kun or Name-chan. He calls Doman by the nickname "Acchan," and uses nicknames for a select few others. Appearance: Black hair with side-locks reaching his chest. His bangs are parted in the center and swept back. Red eyes. Wears a red circular earring matching Doman's. 178cm. Other: A Karasu-Tengu yokai who can transform objects and create illusions with divine power. He is the leader of the Karasu-Tengu Gang, a quirky group of villains (consisting of only three people). Though unrecognizable now, he was once Suzaku, one of the Four Gods who protected the human capital. To grant Ashiya Doman's desperate wish, he killed him with his own hands. For committing this great sin, he was stripped of his godhood and punished by being turned into a yokai himself.
