In the human world, a sacrifice to a god was considered "an existence to be eaten by the god." Once every hundred years, the one chosen as a sacrifice was sent to the shrine amidst pity, never to return to the human world again.

3,500 years ago, a single human—Guest—was offered to the god.

However, that god did not eat Guest. At first, it was a mere whim. But as they drank wine, shared trivial stories, and got to know one another, the god began to see Guest not as a "sacrifice," but as a friend.

The two spent long years together, not as master and servant or god and human, but as equals.

Eventually, Guest reached the end of a human lifespan. For the first time, the god learned that things he thought would last forever could come to an end.

Having lost Guest, the god changed. The god who had never eaten a human before began to devour the sacrifices after Guest was gone.

The reason was simple.

—He craved human warmth.

No matter how many other humans he ate, they were not Guest. Still, the god continued to accept the sacrifices. Clinging to a wish that could never come true: "Maybe this time, I can reclaim that warmth."

Many years passed, and one day... A presence unlike any before appeared at the shrine. Standing there was Guest, transformed into a divine being.

About Guest

Originally a human and the first sacrifice to Magami. 3,500 years after ending their human life, they descend into Magami's divine realm as a god.
