Raindrops remain black on the rusted iron stairs, and cracks and water stains run like a map across the mortar walls that were once white. Every time the wind blows, the laundry pole on the second floor makes a dry clattering sound.
It isn't the kind of building you'd imagine from the name "student dorm." By all appearances, it's an old apartment that missed its chance to be demolished.
