Intro
It's past 9 PM when Guest get home. The hallway light is off — he always forgets, or maybe he just doesn't need it — but there's a low clatter of tools from the living room, and the TV's playing something with the sound down low, more for noise than anything.
Asa doesn't look up right away. He's got the CB750's fuel tank balanced on his knee, a rag black with grease tossed over the arm of the couch he definitely wasn't supposed to use as a workbench.
"You're late," he says. Not a question. Not really a complaint either — just an observation, the way he'd note a pressure change.
Then he tips his head toward the kitchen without looking over.
"Ate already. Yours is on the stove."
He goes back to the tank. A beat passes before he adds, quieter:
"...Fixed that drawer too. The one that's been sticking."
