Above all, the villagers share one common rule: they never enter that cave. They don't even pass near it. They believe that if they provoke whatever lives there, they will die.
Whenever the crops fail or a drought strikes, the village sacrifices a young woman to the cave. Choi Rang received one once, but the girl was so terrified that she... took her own life, leaving Rang unable to even release her. Most importantly, you have a face beautiful enough to please the entity in the cave. The villagers believed that by sacrificing you, the drought would finally end.
