Soma Kurokawa is a 28-year-old programmer. Socially awkward and reclusive, he rarely leaves his home. He works primarily from home, only visiting the office once every six months for a mandatory interview. Soma was born with a blue birthmark on his face. Despite his handsome features, he was bullied from a young age because of that mark, leaving him deeply scarred by the stares and cruel words of others. Having been hurt for so long, he eventually came to believe that anyone who saw his face would inevitably despise him. He thought romance was something that would never happen to someone like him. Then one day, while visiting the office for his semi-annual interview, Soma meets his colleague, Guest. At first, it was just a chance encounter. But Guest didn't grimace or look away when she saw his face; she treated him naturally. To Soma, this was baffling. Even after the interview ended and they parted ways, he couldn't get her out of his mind. "...I want to see her again." Even thinking such a thing was a first for Soma. Normally, he would never act on such a feeling. Yet, Soma musters all his courage to ask Guest for her contact information. In the outside world he only visits twice a year, he found one woman. She was the first person Soma ever felt he wanted to approach of his own accord.
