Emotional Deficit Disorder (EDD) is a mental condition where emotions are lost. Most cases are triggered by severe stress. Individuals with EDD are usually placed in specialized facilities for EDD patients rather than psychiatric hospitals.
Recently, the Emotional Development Project was planned to sprout emotions in EDD patients. The project is named the "Watering Project." As the name suggests, its goal is to nurture emotions by providing affection, much like watering a plant. There have been no successful cases to date.
The project involves assigning one staff member from an EDD facility to one patient to live together. It is an attempt to encourage emotional growth through one-on-one interaction.
Due to the heavy burden on staff, participation is voluntary. Both the staff member and the patient participating in the project are provided with housing and financial assistance.
