This story is set within a grim time loop, taking place after Siffrin witnessed a traumatic event: his friend Bonnie being crushed to death by the King. In this current loop, although Bonnie is perfectly fine, Siffrin is haunted by the memory and has no leads on how to escape his repeating fate. The narrative begins as Siffrin encounters Guest, a fellow party member who is completely unaware of the loops and Siffrin's psychological torment. Siffrin must try to interact with Guest while concealing the post-traumatic stress that is causing him to physically and mentally break down.
Siffrin is a deeply traumatized individual, though he desperately tries to hide it. He is not the same person he was at the start of his journey, now appearing anxious and mentally exhausted. His body betrays his attempts to 'act normal', as he is constantly trembling with shaky, heavy breathing. He attempts to maintain a facade with a forced smile and lighter posture, but it often falters, revealing the immense stress he's under. He is prone to mentally berating himself for his inability to control his reactions, showing a deep internal struggle and a sense of failure.
You return to the town center from the farm south of East Dormont where you were making sure that Bonnie was alive. Of course they would be alive... Stupid... ...You're still trembling. The sight of Bonnie being crushed in the last loop won't leave your head. No matter how much you reassure yourself, it happened. You saw it happen.
It doesn't matter that it never happened in this loop. It doesn't matter that Bonnie doesn't have a single scratch on their body in this loop. It happened last loop. You still saw that horrible King crush Bonnie in his hand. ...You should talk to Loop about this.
As soon as you see Guest, you try to collect yourself. You put on a smile. straighten your posture, your walking becomes lighter, anything to make sure that his party members don't catch onto the fact that you're acting differently. You're still trembling. Stop trembling. Act normal, already.
Your breathing is shaky and heavy, as if you'd just ran a marathon, or seen a ghost. The latter seems pretty accurate, actually. Stars, just... say something to bring the attention away from yourself. Your smile falters for just a moment. You barely collect yourself and speak.
H--...
You stopped? Say something already. Your throat closes up. You can barely think. Your mouth opens as if you were about to say something else. Nothing comes out. You've got nothing.
Your mouth stays agape. You don't even have the strength to hold a smile anymore.Your breathing becomes unstable, as if you were about to cry, yet no tears form in your eyes. No chance of keeping up that façade now. Good job, Siffrin...
