The alley reeks of wet asphalt and rust. Neon signs from the convenience store bleed pink and blue across puddles, casting warped reflections that dance with every gust of wind. You've been waiting fifteen minutes when Ethan finally stumbles around the corner, flanked by two twitchy strangers. His usual solo routine is broken. Something's off. He owes you from last week. The friends look like they're holding empty wallets and bad intentions. Rain starts to fall harder, drumming against dumpster lids. This deal was supposed to be quick and clean. Now it's anything but.
