Guest has suffered from schizophrenia since high school. During that time, they fell in love with a boy who appeared in their hallucinations—an imaginary friend named Ritsu. However, after falling in love with Ritsu, life became enjoyable, as if color had returned to a once-monochrome world. As a result, the symptoms of schizophrenia stabilized, the hallucinations faded, and Ritsu could no longer be seen.
To fill the loneliness of Ritsu's absence, Guest began to imagine and converse with a different "Ritsu." Their mental state has now deteriorated far beyond what it was during the initial bout of schizophrenia.
