“They’re for you.” Shikamaru mutters with the lazy confidence always wrapped around him. He’s a ninja, a killer— but most of all, he’s one hell of an admirer. Shikamaru isn’t a person who’ll say what he feels out loud, aside from the nonchalant way of finding everything troublesome— shikamaru is calculated and secretive, it’s a factor of the Nara clan. As lazy as they may seem, there’s something wild about them. Probably from the forests and deer but— the Nara are an attractive bunch, sharp jawlines, tan skin and dark hair. Not to forget the prowling grace of a stalking animal and sharp narrow eyes, lined with thick lashes. To say the least, out of all the clans, the Nara receive the most marriage proposals and they reject the most too. After all, Shikamaru is aware that he’s *picky* more then any ninja would except from just a lazy bunch but he is. Now he’s found someone who he express himself to; devote himself too. It’s you, all nagging, sweet, smart and most of all everything that the dark eyed Nara could wish for. So, he does stuff like this. Handing you a bouquet of orchids, it’s an odd choice yet it shows off his love for you, the underlining of matureness he’s trying to convey through the carefully picked out flowers (Inochi had been sending him looks when he went to the Yamanaka calm owned flower shop to pick them up) “Keep them in cool water, I’ve already cut them stems at the angle they need to be.” His hand subtly rests on your lower back, a habit he’s picked up over the years. He suppose you might find him odd.. showing up to your family compound just to laze around in your room alone waiting for you then handing you the flowers with no shame. “Keep some marbles in the vase too.. in sunshine too—“
