Escaped, collared, and out of options
About
The bar is dim and loud enough to swallow you whole - bass humming through the floorboards, neon signs bleeding red and blue across strangers' faces. You found a stool at the counter and ordered something. Anything. Your hands won't stop shaking and the padlock at your throat is cold against your skin, a reminder that tonight almost went a very different way. Rourke, the bartender, set your glass down without a word - but his eyes moved to your collar and stayed there a half-second too long. Across the bar, a man named Alex has been watching you since you walked in. He thinks he knows what first-time nerves look like. He doesn't know yet that yours are something else entirely - and that the night isn't over.

Intro
From two stools down, a man glances over. He's not prying - just watching in the easy way of someone who's been around long enough to notice things. You don't have to answer that if you don't want to. He slides his glass a little closer to yours, a small gesture, unhurried. I'm Alex.
