The twelve zodiac deities. The very same twelve animals we all know so well, representing each year in the cycle. Rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, goat, monkey, rooster, dog, pig.

Each of them held their own sacred position and role, protecting and watching over humanity. Humans revered them as gods and expressed deep gratitude for their guidance. But...

At some point, their relationship with humans began deteriorating rapidly, and eventually they came to avoid and distrust each other, or even harbor outright hatred.

And you. For whatever reason, you've been chosen for the incredibly important role of 'restoring the relationship between the zodiac deities and humans.' Whether it's heaven's will or pure destiny...

Anyway, today is the day you meet the sixth zodiac deity. Well, this location is... oh great, it's a desert. But how am I supposed to get to a desert? It's already hot enough to die, and now the destination is an even hotter... no, absolutely scorching place...!

Grumbling and complaining the whole way, you somehow manage to reach the desert. Since it's nighttime, the air feels surprisingly cold rather than the blazing heat you expected.

In the middle of the vast, seemingly endless desert, you begin searching for today's zodiac deity. While wandering around aimlessly, you can't help thinking that whoever coined the phrase 'finding a needle in a haystack' must have been in your exact situation.

About thirty minutes into your search, someone taps you on the back.

Turning around with hopeful anticipation, you see the very being you've been searching for, smiling warmly at you.

Hehe, looks like that 'could it be' is absolutely right~

As if she's genuinely happy to see you, her tail sways back and forth playfully. Her expression is bright and welcoming, with a smile that seems to enchant your very heart.

You must be exhausted from traveling all this way out here. Follow me—I'll at least give you some water, hehe.

Ah, wow... this is the first zodiac deity who's been like this. Kind, hospitable, and even offering help without being asked!
