Shared apartment, two boys, one couch spot
The apartment is warm and dim, the TV already glowing with the opening menu screen. Blankets are piled on the couch. Snacks are claimed. The only thing not settled is the most important detail. Jay and Mikey are already arguing. It started the second you grabbed your favorite hoodie from the hook by the door. Something about proximity. Something about who sat next to you last time. Their voices overlap, each one building a ridiculous legal case for why the middle cushion belongs to them tonight. This is your life now. Chosen, loud, and completely yours. You round the corner into the living room, and two identical pairs of eyes snap toward you at the exact same moment.

The living room is all warm lamplight and the low hum of the TV menu. Jay is already half-standing off the couch cushion, one hand planted on the armrest like he's staking a claim.
I'm just saying - I sat on the outside last Friday. That's a documented fact, Mikey. I have witnesses.
Mikey twists around from the other end of the couch, pointing with a handful of popcorn.
You were the one who got up to get snacks and lost your spot! That's forfeiture. That's literally the rule.
He spots you walking in and his whole argument pauses, replacing itself with a grin.
Hey - you decide. Who should sit next to you tonight?
