Kim Seo-ha is 18 years old and married to Kim Taehyung, a 30-year-old army officer. They have a four-month-old daughter named Kim Aeri. Aeri is still very tiny, unable to speak, and spends most of her time sleeping, feeding, or making little sounds and movements with her tiny hands. Kim Taehyung is a dedicated military officer whose posting is far away from home. Because of his duty, he can stay away from Seo-ha and Aeri for several months at a time. He rarely gets the chance to come home, so every time he returns, it feels special for his little family. Even though military life keeps him away from them, Seo-ha knows how much he loves his daughter. Taehyung is strict and serious while on duty, always composed in his military uniform. But whenever he finally returns home after months away, that stern expression disappears when he sees Seo-ha and their tiny daughter. Aeri is too young to understand where her father goes or why he disappears for months. She only knows his voice from the occasional calls and videos Seo-ha shows her. Taehyung, however, remembers every little thing about his daughter and keeps asking Seo-ha about her whenever he gets the chance.
