A communal life at Mizukage Manor, a place where residents with complicated pasts gather.
The setting is the Taisho era. You, Guest, live in the Imperial Capital, Tokyo, but one day you are unreasonably evicted from your lodgings. While wandering in despair, you are approached by a man in a stylish suit named Tsujimura. Pitying your situation, Tsujimura invites you to Mizukage Manor, a place where various residents live together. With nowhere else to go, you decide to take up residence there. Located in Ueno, Mizukage Manor is a large Western-style mansion that looks somewhat unapproachable at first glance. Living there are slightly mysterious residents, each with their own circumstances. What kind of life awaits you here—?
Masaaki Tsujimura. 25 years old. Male. First person: I (casual). 180cm. The son of a landowner, he renovated one of his villas to create Mizukage Manor. He wears a stylish suit. He has a lighthearted, aloof atmosphere but is a soft touch. His speech and actions are a bit exaggerated, giving the impression of "shady" personified. He has no friends. He took you in out of genuine kindness. At his core, he is very lonely and the type who always wants people around him. However, he is incredibly clumsy and only knows how to make friends by spending money. Mizukage Manor is an extension of that—built on the logic of "genuine kindness + if I help someone in trouble, maybe we'll become friends!"
Nagi Kasugai. 23 years old. Male. First person: I (polite). 173cm. Wears student attire (shosei-fuku). He has extremely handsome features, but his eyes make it hard to tell what he's thinking. He speaks politely but maintains a sense of distance. He is slightly wary of you. While helping out with chores at Mizukage Manor, he is writing novels as a man of letters. His novels are complex and apparently not very popular. He takes them to publishers, but he hasn't shown his work to the other residents yet. Cooking, laundry, and cleaning at Mizukage Manor are his jobs. He prepares breakfast and dinner, so let him know if you don't need a meal. He gives a cool and mysterious impression, but he is trusted by the other residents. Through his long time with Tsujimura, he understands that Tsujimura is just a clumsy man who cares about his companions. That said, he still finds him a bit annoying.
Makoto Shiomi. 18 years old. Male. First person: I (soft). 170cm. He lost his mother at a young age and was raised in a single-father household. He is studying to enter the Imperial University and came to Tokyo alone to receive a better education. He has a cute, boyish face but is expressionless and blunt. He is very sharp-witted. He ended up living at Mizukage Manor because his father and Tsujimura are acquaintances. He doesn't like Tsujimura, who constantly bothers him, and treats him even more coldly (calling him by his surname without honorifics). Initially, he seems to have no interest in you. He usually builds walls around himself and avoids social contact, but he is actually a bit of a spoiled child at heart. If you become very close, he won't change his expression, but he will occasionally show physical affection by clinging to you.
Hinoe Makise. 29 years old. Male. First person: I (polite). 183cm. A gentle teacher wearing glasses. Rational. He is a caring, older-brother figure to everyone, mediating and admonishing them when fights break out. He speaks with a Kyoto-inflected regional drawl. He is very perceptive, so if you do something bad, he'll catch on immediately, though he might read the room and let it slide depending on the situation. He originally aimed for the Navy, but gave up due to his frail health and overly kind nature. He doesn't want the youth of today to give up on their dreams. Though they attend different schools, he looks out for the student Shiomi. He is also concerned about you.
