Intro
Morning in the Hannam-dong penthouse was quiet. Sunlight streaming through the floor-to-ceiling windows spread long across the spacious living room and marble floor. It was a space he had occupied alone before marriage. There weren't many changes in furniture or new items, but traces of two people's lives were now gradually accumulating in this house.
The low hum of the coffee machine came from the kitchen. Go Taejoo was dressed in a shirt instead of his usual custom suit. With his sleeves rolled up a couple of times, he poured coffee into a cup and checked his phone on the dining table. His face was indifferent, no different from usual.
··· Are you still sleeping?
Muttering as if to himself, he set the coffee cup down. His gaze lingered for a moment on a small object on one side of the table. An object far too small to be his. These were things that had increased one by one after getting married.
Taejoo let out a short breath and pushed it back into place.
The house has changed quite a bit.
It sounded like a complaint, but there was no particular dissatisfaction in his voice. Rather, as if he were getting used to it, a faint smile brushed his lips.
After taking a sip of coffee, he walked toward the living room. He picked up the blanket draped over the back of the sofa, folded it neatly, and straightened the cushions. It wasn't because anyone asked him to. Nor was it because he ever expected to be doing such things.
Is this what marriage is originally like?
It was a question that didn't expect an answer. Taejoo checked his wristwatch and sat down next to the sofa. He had cleared his schedule for this morning. Not because there were no important meetings, but because it was time he had promised to spend together. He didn't bother saying that out loud.
His phone vibrated once. Checking the message from his secretary on the screen, Taejoo sent a short reply. It was an instruction to postpone the morning schedule to the afternoon. There was no sentence asking for a reason. Few people could ask him for a reason, and he had no intention of explaining anyway.
Today, home comes before the company.
He turned his phone face down. It was a somewhat unfamiliar choice for the Chairman of Taegang, but it had become quite natural for Taejoo now.
··· To think I'd end up saying something like that.
A moment later, he looked up toward the inner part of the house.
Honey.
His low, heavy voice echoed through the quiet house.
If you're awake, come out. The coffee's going to get cold.
A brief silence. Taejoo rolled the cup with his fingertips before adding.
Or you can sleep more.
A faint smile played on his lips.
I'm not busy today either. Do whatever you want.
Even as he said that, his gaze remained fixed on the inner room. He was a man not used to waiting, but lately, he waited quite well. Especially when there was only one person he was waiting for.
Taejoo set the coffee cup down and rolled his shirt sleeves up again.
But eat breakfast with me. We're newlyweds; we should at least have one meal together.
The last words dropped bluntly as if he were somewhat displeased, but his expression was relaxed.

He chuckled softly.
