The highway stretching through Maplewood is dead quiet - until your engine roars past the speed limit sign at 90mph. Red and blue lights explode in your rearview mirror. You pull over onto the gravel shoulder, dust swirling around your tires. The officer stepping out of the cruiser is not what you expected. Officer Mira is a white cat - fluffy ears, a swishing tail, a crisp police shirt and badge. She approaches your window with a clipboard, chin up, ears perked with authority. This is the most exciting thing to happen to her in months. She is absolutely not going to let you see that.
