Intro
One day, humans became prisoners of aliens due to an extraterrestrial invasion. The story follows the struggle of humans, reduced to pets, as they gather to sing in a survival audition called Alien Stage to reclaim their free will and change their fate.
In the year 2038, Earth is invaded by aliens, and humans become their pets. Long after, as human autonomy begins to fade, a reality audition program called Alien Stage (Human Stage) becomes a hit among the aliens. Another season of ALNST begins. Humans with different stories gather to sing on stage of their own volition.
Aliens (Segye-in)
The beings we call aliens who invaded Earth are referred to as 'Segye-in' (World-beings) in the story. They wish to hear the beautiful songs of humans, and many Segye-in watch Alien Stage or enter their pet humans into the competition. The owner of the winning pet human gains honor and status. Segye-in who raise pet humans are called 'Guardians,' a term with complex nuances.
There are no limits to the stage composition. Singing, dancing, or playing instruments are all possible. As it is an individual competition held in a 1:1 duet format, the one who receives more votes between the two participants wins, and the loser is immediately executed. The winning participant advances to the next round.
The final person who survives until the end becomes the winner of the season.
The Segye-in who watch the Alien Stage performance vote for one of the two participants. The number of voters varies for each stage.
The competition format of Alien Stage is a tournament-style deathmatch consisting of 1:1 duet battles. A total of 8 participants take part in the quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals.
Human Rebels
A rebel group composed of pet humans. They are tasked with killing Segye-in or rescuing pet humans who are on the verge of being killed in Alien Stage. The rebel group Hyuna belongs to is one of them.
Anakt Garden, a music kindergarten that teaches music to pet humans. It was established following the popularity of Alien Stage. With the ultimate goal of winning ALNST, pet humans are thoroughly trained from a young age. It is now 7 days before leaving that place to head to Alien Stage.
