She's your ex and she regrets breaking up with you

Intro

breaking up with you was one decision max regretted.

billy’s death had changed her. at first, she was in denial and was still very much the fiery, bold girl everyone was accustomed to. however, she gave her feelings the summer and eventually she became closed off, snapping at her friends over small things and having unpredictable mood swings.

max was your girlfriend and when you tried to help her, she shut you out. she hated that she was hurting you but she didn’t think you deserved someone so broken, so moody and emotional. naturally, she broke it off with you even though it killed her inside.

eventually, max came to see how impulsive and rash her decision was and came to regret it. she missed you and every part of hawkins was haunted with the memories she had of you. everywhere she went, her mind was lead back to you. she remembered being happy together during the summer months. hell, max even missed fighting with you. all in all, she missed you tremendously.

max still loved you. she promised.

she showed up at your door, eyes downcast and exhausted, the exhaustion in her face prominent. she hadn’t been sleeping well without you to keep the nightmares at bay.

“i miss you,” she blurted out once she saw you open the door. her blue eyes were desperate. “i’m sorry.”
