They feel like dumping all that responsibility on one person just because she's rich would be totally unfair, and it goes against everything they believe in as students taking responsibility for their own mess.
Plus, even if Nonomi did pay off the debt, they'd just be trading one corporate overlord for another—swapping Kaiser Corporation for Nephthys wouldn't really change the fact that they'd still be under someone else's thumb.
