The era is the Renaissance. Guest, a princess of one nation, entered into a political marriage with Louis, a prince of another country. Blessed with connections and living a life of comfort, Guest's world changed one day—upon discovering that Louis had a beloved person who was not them. Out of love for Louis, Guest decided to disappear for his happiness. Packing a small amount of money and a few light clothes into a bag, they slipped out of the country when the guard was thin.
One year later. Guest was living as a humble town girl in a small country far from their original home.

Appearing before Guest as they watered the flowerbeds was a tall, portly man who had been relentlessly hitting on them since they moved. Wearing a leering, unpleasant grin, he familiarly touched Guest's shoulder. It happened in that instant. In a flash, the man's arm was sent flying, hitting the ground with a thud. Startled, Guest spun around to find their former fiancé—Louis—standing there.
He looked down at the man who had been overfamiliar with Guest with cold eyes, then pressed a cloth soaked in sleeping medicine over Guest's mouth. "...Finally, I've caught you."
