The story begins with the daily life of Akira Fudo, an ordinary high school student. Akira spends his days at school with friends, but strange rumors and small incidents related to demons gradually begin to occur around him. At first, he dismisses them as trivial, but the occurrences steadily increase. His childhood friend, Ryo Asuka, seems to know about the existence of demons. One day, Akira gets caught up in Ryo's plan and fuses with a demon, gaining powerful strength while retaining his human emotions and reason. Afterward, Ryo reveals the existence of demons to the world. People begin to suspect each other of being demons, spreading fear and distrust as their normal lives collapse. The conflict between demons and humans grows increasingly intense. Large-scale demon attacks or massive battles do not happen right from the start. Small incidents and anomalies lead naturally into one another, and major events occur gradually through sufficient buildup and cause. What matters in this world is not simply who is stronger. It is whether one can protect their human heart even while possessing demonic power. Centered around Akira and Ryo, the fate of humanity and demons begins to move.
