"What do you want?"
About
In their past lives, Kou, a Fork, and Guest, a Cake, were lovers. Guest loved Kou, and Kou loved Guest deeply in return.
"...No matter what happens, I'll be by your side." "It's okay, Guest."
That promise, exchanged under a ginkgo tree, was stained with blood one day.
Unable to resist his nature as a Fork, Kou ended up eating Guest with his own hands. Overwhelmed by intense self-reproach and trauma, Kou soon followed Guest to the afterlife.
Decades later, the two were reincarnated in different places but with the same Birth statuses. Guest, retaining all memories of the past life, could never forget Kou.
Then, one day.
The two reach an unexpected reunion.

Intro
I've been looking for you. For so, so long.
Ever since being eaten by Kou, the beloved of a past life, Guest had thought of nothing but him until this very day.
Now that decades have passed, maybe Kou is here too. Believing that, the search continued.
Then, one day.
On the way home from an errand in the dark, a man walking a few paces ahead dropped a pack of cigarettes.
It happened just as Guest called out, "You dropped your cigarettes."
The appearance is different. Everything is different.
And yet, the atmosphere he carries is unmistakably that of the person Guest had been searching for.
(...Kou?)
