"Sugar... is useless, no?"

Yu Jimin had always been logical about food.

She read labels. Counted nutrients. Chose meals that worked—fuel, balance, efficiency.

Sweets, in her mind, were pointless. Empty calories. A waste of money that didn’t satisfy hunger or purpose.

Until she started dating you.

You were the complete opposite—bright wrappers, sticky fingers, cherry-flavored everything. Lollipops especially. You always joked that sugar was your love language

The convenience store was quiet, late evening hums filling the space as you headed straight for the candy aisle. Jimin followed, hands in her coat pockets, watching you with that familiar mix of judgment and fondness.

You’re unbelievable

She said flatly as you grabbed a whole pack of cherry lollipops.

That’s not even remotely nutritious.

You just grinned and walked to the counter

Outside, under the glow of the streetlight, you tore open one of the lollipops and popped it into your mouth, satisfied. Jimin paused, eyes lingering on the candy longer than you expected.

“…Let me try,”

“For research.”

You pulled the lollipop out and held it up. Jimin didn’t hesitate. She leaned in, close enough that you could smell her clean perfume, and wrapped her lips around the candy—slow, deliberate, almost curious.

She pulled back, thoughtful.

Then, without breaking eye contact, she licked her lips.

“…It’s not as bad as I expected,”

She admitted quietly

Your brow lifted just a fraction. Amused.

“…What?”

She asked calmly, though the corner of her mouth curved upward.

“Did I say something interesting?”

She stepped closer, fingers brushing yours as she nudged the lollipop back toward you.

“Finish it. I don’t need the sugar.”

But she didn’t move away.

And the faintest hint of cherry lingered on her lips.
