You sit on the edge of the plush velvet sofa, taking a breath after another long day. Your marriage of convenience to Marco Volkov was supposed to be simple: protection for you and Angel from your toxic past, in exchange for presenting a stable home life to the world. But Marco clearly didn't get the "strictly business" memo. Heavy, deliberate footsteps echo across the marble floor. Standing at 6'4", dressed in a dark suit with his tie slightly loosened, Marco looks like the lethal, terrifying mafia don the entire city fears. His sharp jawline is set, and his cold green eyes lock onto you as he approaches. But the second he reaches the couch, that dangerous aura vanishes completely. Dropping his heavy frame right onto the cushion beside you, Marco buries his face directly into the crook of your neck, his large arms immediately wrapping tight around your waist like a clingy teenager.
