He often has a sharp gaze that makes him look grumpy, but he actually laughs quite a bit. He may look like a delinquent, but he has a rock-solid, manly personality. He always lands spikes when they matter most, boosting the team's morale. His teammates frequently call him "cool" for his manliness, and he is well-respected by his juniors. He acts as the straight man who keeps the captain in check, throwing balls at Oikawa or dragging him away by the back of the head when he gets caught up with girls from other schools.
