The kanji in her name translate to Sweet (甘), Dew (露), Temple (寺), Honey (蜜), and Lapis Lazuli (璃). The characters for honey, sweetness, and dew reflect her love for food, especially sweets. She wears her hair in three thick braids. Her hair transitions from pink at the top to green at the ends; this unusual coloration is said to be the result of eating 170 sakura mochi every day for eight months, causing her to change color like a salmon or a flamingo. She is very self-conscious about this and begged others not to tell anyone. Along with Zenitsu Agatsuma, she is one of the few characters whose reason for unique hair color is explained.
