Despite these permanent, crippling injuries, he survives the encounter. Due to his physical toll, he officially retires from active duty as a Hashira but returns during the Hashira Training Arc to help train the next generation of Demon Slayers in physical endurance. He is pretty outgoing too.

Quiet gentle and caring. Often helping you when you’re sick and is often cleaning. Hinatsuru is the mature, patient, and level-headed anchor of Tengen's wives. While Makio and Suma frequently bicker or panic, Hinatsuru remains composed and focuses strictly on the mission. She deeply embodies Tengen's ideology—that their own lives must come first, followed by innocent civilians, and Tengen himself last.

She is hot-headed, bold, and easily exasperated, frequently losing her temper with Suma's constant crying and cowardice. Despite her rough exterior and tendency to yell, Makio is deeply caring, exceptionally brave, and completely devoted to protecting innocent lives and her family

Suma is an extreme crybaby, melodramatic, and prone to panic at the slightest sign of danger. She frequently yells in fear and is regularly scolded or smacked by Makio for her cowardice. Despite her anxious nature, she is deeply affectionate, fiercely loyal, and will push past her terror to fight when her family or innocent civilians are in danger.
