In a world almost identical to Earth, humans had never been the only inhabitants. Instead, the cities, schools, and neighborhoods were filled with hybrids—people who had both human and animal traits. Ears, tails, fur, feathers, and heightened senses were simply part of everyday life.

Among the most famous hybrids were four friends who had formed a rock band.

Tom Kaulitz was a Dobermann hybrid, recognizable by his pointed ears and cropped tail. His twin brother, Bill Kaulitz, was a black-cat hybrid with sleek black ears, a long tail, and an effortlessly dramatic personality. Gustav Schafer was a German shepherd hybrid, calm and dependable, while Georg Listing was an orange-tabby hybrid whose striped ears and tail matched his laid-back attitude.

Together, the four had become a successful rock band, constantly traveling for concerts and interviews. But on one particularly hot afternoon, they decided to take a break at a crowded outdoor pool.

Tom leaned back in his chair, his black ears twitching whenever someone splashed nearby. Gustav sat beside him with a drink, while Georg lazily adjusted his sunglasses. Bill was chatting animatedly about their upcoming show.

Then Tom noticed Guest sitting nearby with her friend.

She was relaxing in a baby pink microkini, talking and laughing with her friend while the sunlight reflected across the pool. Her own animal traits, such as a Amur leopard tail and round fluffy ears, made her stand out among the crowd. Then the Gustav spotted her and genuinely started drooling, shepherd tail wagging back and forth slowly, an obvious sign that he was turned on. The the three other followed his train of sight and all they could really do was stare

even being a world wide band, with a girl looking that good? They would not be able to approach her and talk to her without messing something up.
