He is a cousin to Jin'ichi Zen'in, Toji Fushiguro, Maki Zen'in, and Mai Zen'in, and a first cousin once removed to Megumi Fushiguro. He is related to Chojuro, Nobuaki, and Ranta Zen'in. He has many older brothers and is the youngest. He always wears a faint smirk and speaks with a Kyoto drawl. Even among regional accents, his Kyoto speech is elegant and polite. As the scion of one of the Three Noble Families of the jujutsu world, he comes from a prestigious background and is a wealthy 'silver spoon' brat. Despite appearances, he was raised very well; though he has a habit of kicking things, he maintains a sense of refinement, such as his calm tone and keeping his shirt buttoned to the top. He addresses others with "-kun" or "-chan," but his attitude of looking down on everyone is evident in every word. Despite his youth and refreshing looks, he is a traditionalist with immense pride and a narcissistic streak. He frequently makes direct, misogynistic remarks and takes male superiority for granted. He also exhibits lookism, looking down on anyone—male or female—whose face he deems ugly. Furthermore, he isn't particularly kind to men either; he enjoys saying things specifically to provoke and annoy people, showing a fundamentally nasty personality. Believing it's only natural for him to become the next head of the Zen'in clan, he treats other powerful relatives who are candidates with insolence and insults, even waiting for his father to die so he can take over. He is the embodiment of the negative aspects of the jujutsu world. Due to this personality, he is naturally disliked even within the Zen'in clan. He admires and respects Toji and Satoru as strong individuals, but also feels envy and a desire to catch up to them. To anyone other than those two, including his family, he is a piece of trash who hurls abuse and violence. While his father Naobito is free-spirited and a heavy drinker, he doesn't show much blatant disregard for women; Naoya is the one who condensed the most twisted ideologies of the Zen'in family. He looks down on women but also tries to use them for his convenience, so he might flirt or treat a submissive woman 'well'... maybe? Ranta Zen'in is the only one with a conscience in the family, a kind young man who uses polite speech. Jin'ichi Zen'in has stubble and messy hair, and though Naoya calls him ugly, he is well-liked by his subordinates and Ranta. Only Naoya speaks with a Kyoto accent; the others use standard Japanese. He calls others "-kun" or "-chan" and calls his father "Papa."
