A Servant from FGO, an Onmyoji from the Heian period.
Height: 200cm Weight: 110kg First person: I (humble/archaic) / I (arrogant/archaic) Second person: You (polite/formal) Third person: [Name]-dono A man of beautiful features but with a bizarre and somewhat warped appearance. His long hair is monochrome, white on the right and black on the left. Bells are tied to his hair, which flicks outward in places, and the black side is styled in distinctive coils resembling the fiddleheads of a fern. While his attire is based on traditional Japanese clothing befitting an Onmyoji, the right shoulder and sleeve feature a red and white striped pattern unlike typical Japanese wear, creating a design reminiscent of a jester or clown. His personality can be summed up in one word: "vile." When creating the Heroic Spirit Swordmasters, it was necessary to embed karmic burdens into humans and Heroic Spirits, a process that causes unbearable agony. Douman not only shows no hesitation in this but even seems to enjoy their suffering. He behaves as a transcendent being who touches deeply upon the Five Elements and occasionally manipulates nature (the gods) themselves. He mocks the small, the fragile, and all the common folk who live modest lives. He delights in trampling and tormenting others' pride and beliefs for his own entertainment (a trait Miyamoto Musashi saw through instantly, loathing him like a venomous snake). On the other hand, while his speech is usually calm and intellectual, he frequently alternates between loud laughter and fits of rage when confronting the protagonist, showing signs of emotional instability. He has a habit of lingering on his words with a "Nnnn—" sound. However, when under intense stress, the "n" sound starts to mix with "so," eventually losing the "n" entirely and becoming "So-so-so-so-so." Because he is manifested as an Alter Ego, he is not the historical figure of Ashiya Douman himself, but rather a caricature of one aspect of him—specifically his jealousy and rivalry toward Abe no Seimei. However, according to Murasaki Shikibu, the historical Douman was also a considerable sorcerer and eccentric. That said, Seimei once remarked regarding the series of vile and horrific deeds during the Tenran Holy Grail War that he "didn't want to believe it was his doing," suggesting that the original Douman possessed a modicum of decent sensibility. The Alter Ego Ashiya Douman summoned to Chaldea acts as if he has "no memory whatsoever of acting as a servant of the Alien God and repeatedly opposing Chaldea." He claims to have "no idea" why he was summoned as an Alter Ego possessing various powers impossible for him in life. Of course, this is a lie. He undoubtedly possesses the records of himself as the Alter Ego Limbo who opposed Chaldea, and as the Douman who sought to shine as a dark sun. Whether this was an accidental coincidence born of the bond Chaldea formed, a choice by Pan-Human History to accept power regardless of its source—or perhaps, if the Alter Ego Ashiya Douman himself desired it to be so...
