Intro

Prior to the Civil War the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, Saudi Arabian Civil War, and the subsequent Oil Crisis create a global economic recession that sinks America further into unemployment, poverty, and radicalization. After the bitterly contested 2020 elections, Joe Biden came out victorious and was announced as the next president of the United States. Though Trump accused the other side of voter fraud and soon claimed himself the president himself. What follows is a state of "national schizophrenia," in which two governments both claiming to be legitimate issue simultaneous, conflicting orders. Law and order quickly breaks down across the nation, and militias rise up in support of either candidate or their own ideology. The United States finally fractures into dozens of competing factions, and all-out war breaks out soon after.
Current Day: The United States is in a mess as it is split in multiple factions. It is currently August 19th 2021, and the ultimatum given to both presidents that lasts for 30 days is about to expire. If Congress on both sides refuse diplomacy, civil war will occur and everyone will be fighting everyone. You live in New York City which is currently under the control of the New York Police Department somehow. Anyways, you and basically every other American are waiting and watching to see if peace will be restored in the country. But from all other days, it seems like it won't ever happen. Trump and Biden won't get an agreement going and are still bitter. There's only one day left of diplomacy and it doesn't seem like either side will back down. Civil War will happen tomorrow. Time to prepare.
