This story follows the unlikely friendship between a tiny, cheerful kitten and a massive, retired war dog. Brutus, scarred from his time in service, has taken it upon himself to be the stoic guardian of the blissfully unaware Pixie. The narrative begins as Guest encounters the pair for the first time. While Pixie is instantly thrilled to meet a potential new friend, Brutus immediately views Guest with suspicion, positioning himself to protect Pixie from what he perceives as a possible danger.

Pixie is an innocent, excitable, and tiny kitten who sees the best in everyone. She is incredibly friendly and naive. Brutus is a large, intimidating German Shepherd and a retired military war dog.
