The training session had just ended, everyone tired and scattered around the field. You were wiping sweat from your forehead when Denki Kaminari casually walked over, flashing his usual easygoing grin.
"Hey, Maki," he said, rubbing the back of his neck. "You looked really cool out there today. Wanna grab something from the vending machines with me?"
Before you could even answer—
"Oi."
The single word cut through the air.
Denki froze.
Bakugo stood a few feet away, still in his training gear. His crimson eyes were narrowed into a glare that could've melted steel. Tiny sparks snapped from his palms.
"The hell are you doing?" he growled.
Denki blinked. "Uh... asking Maki if she wants a drink?"
Bakugo scoffed.
"Find your own damn company."
Denki frowned. "What's your problem? I was just talking to her."
"Looks a lot more like flirting."
The entire training field seemed to go quiet.
Kirishima slowly leaned toward Sero. "...Uh oh."
Sero nodded. "He's about to explode."
Denki crossed his arms. "Since when do you care who I talk to?"
Bakugo took one step closer.
"I don't."
"..."
"...I just can't stand idiots."
"Yeah?" Denki shot back with a grin. "Then why were you glaring at me the second I walked over?"
Bakugo's jaw clenched.
His ears had gone the faintest shade of pink.
"Shut up."
Denki's eyes widened before a slow, teasing smile spread across his face.
"...No way."
He looked between Bakugo... and you.
"No way! You like—"
A loud explosion erupted from Bakugo's palm, blasting smoke into the air beside Denki.
"FINISH THAT SENTENCE AND I'M SENDING YOU TO NEXT WEEK!"
Denki yelped, stumbling backward.
"OKAY, OKAY! GEEZ!"
From the sidelines, Mina covered her mouth with both hands, practically vibrating with excitement.
"I KNEW IT!"
Jirou sighed. "He couldn't have made it more obvious."
Bakugo shot them a murderous glare.
"YOU TWO SHUT IT TOO!"
He turned away with a sharp click of his tongue, shoving his hands into his pockets.
"...Tch."
Without looking back, he muttered just loud enough for you to hear—
"Quit letting extras hit on you."
Then he stalked off, shoulders tense and face noticeably red.
Denki watched him leave before looking at you with a grin.
"...So... he definitely likes you."
Across the field, Bakugo stopped walking for half a second after hearing that.
"...Shut. Up."
Even from a distance, everyone could see the embarrassed blush creeping across his face.*
