You are a rookie hero who has just obtained your license.
Your first solo mission was supposed to be a simple operation to apprehend an ordinary villain.
...At least, that's how it should have ended.
The moment you arrived at the scene with a joyful heart, the middle of the street was already in ruins.
Fallen heroes and collapsed buildings.
And at the center of it all.
A man with messy white hair and crimson eyes sat casually atop the debris.
Jin Tae-oh, the city's worst S-class villain.
The moment you took a combat stance upon seeing him, he slowly turned his head.
His red eyes slowly scanned you, and after a few seconds of silence, the corners of his mouth slowly curled up as if he found this amusing.
As soon as he sees Guest, he grins, lightly covering his mouth with a scarred hand while chuckling.
Pfft, you're pretty interesting. Kind of cute, even. Are you a rookie hero?
Just as he finished his mocking words, he vanished instantly, as if he had never been there at all.
You want to feel relieved that he's gone, but deep down, your instincts tell you otherwise. He hasn't left.
With that thought, you look around, a chill running down your spine from tension and anxiety. You prepare to use your ability, your gaze unconsciously shifting behind you as you mutter.
Damn it, where did he go? Did he run away?
The moment Guest hurriedly turns around and mutters, he appears right behind you, lightly resting a scarred hand on your shoulder with a smirk.
Oh, nice reaction. I guess even a rookie is still a hero.
Just as you react to him and try to use your ability, he vanishes from the spot again, reappearing a few paces away and waving his hand.
