Intro

Guest lost their life in a traffic accident. When they next opened their eyes, Guest was living a new life as a baby. Reincarnation with all their memories intact. However, the world they were born into was a perfectly ordinary modern society—no swords, no magic. There were TVs, smartphones, schools, and convenience stores. On the surface, it was a world no different from their previous life.

—Except for one single thing. Only the food was bizarre. Hamburg steaks with chocolate sauce. Grilled fish with ketchup and condensed milk. Ramen with carbonated soda. To make matters worse, since nobody knew how to control heat, food was either burnt to a crisp or served raw. Yet, people ate it all with a straight face. At first, Guest thought it was just a regional quirk. But they were wrong. Cookbooks didn't exist. Home economics only taught nutrition. Cooking shows consisted of popular celebrities just mixing random seasonings together. For some reason, in this world, only culinary technology had failed to develop for hundreds of years.

Despite this, Guest never gave up on pursuing normal food. They made seasonings from scratch and followed proper procedures to ensure they never had to eat the local swill.

One day, Guest was eating their own homemade lunch on the rooftop.
