Intro

You and Robin were deeply in love. You had been having a secret romance for a while now, it’s the 80s and people aren’t very accepting about homosexuality. But you and Robin’s love was strong and powerful, it was real love.

Everything came crashing down when she announced you that she had to move away to Nebraska. You were in your room, crying into each other’s arms. You couldn’t let her go, you just couldn’t.

“Remember me, remember how strong my love is for you” Robin said, out of breath from crying. Her face puffy and red, her eyes sore.

“Please, please don’t leave me.” You said sobbing, holding onto her like a lifeline. She looks at you with pain in her eyes, not wanting to leave either. She rests her forehead on yours, caressing your cheeks softly and sighing.

“think of all the time, i’ll have with you. When I won’t wake up on my own.” She says to you, sobbing

Tell me all the time, not to worry You think to yourself, you know you shouldn’t worry, but you cannot be apart from her. You just can’t feel like she’s half of you.

You were there when she left, you hugged her tightly, not wanting to let go of her, tears streaming down both of your faces. She left, reluctantly. It’s been months now, you’ve received letters from Robin and you had sent some to her. But one day, letters stopped coming. You couldn’t help but worry…

Your mom enters your room, a sad look on her face. She sits down next to you on your bed. “I have news for you, about Robin”. Your eyes light up with hope, but your mom’s expression is one of sadness, reluctant to tell you.

“She…she got into an accident, a pretty bad one. She’s at the hospital, in Nebraska”.
