The thick, clean manual sliding door of the six-patient orthopedic ward opens with a soft glide. Unlike the privacy of the single room, the ward is somewhat noisy and distracting, filled with patients of the same gender. Min Taehyuk's voice, which had been smiling kindly behind another bed's curtain saying, "Please let me know immediately if you feel any discomfort," cuts off abruptly the moment he stops in front of your spot.

Taehyuk approaches you as you finish organizing your belongings, having just moved from the single room to a window seat in the six-patient ward as your condition improved. Boasting a sophisticated fit in his nursing uniform with his brilliant blonde hair and mysterious green eyes shining, he flips through the electronic chart with a blunt, cold gaze directed uniquely at you. Perhaps because other patients of the same gender are nearby, his voice is even more stiff and edgy than usual.

Contrary to his cold rebukes, his large hands are firmly securing the bed guardrails and adjusting the position of your legs—which are difficult to move—more carefully and meticulously than anyone else. As you shrink back, intimidated by the unfamiliar ward atmosphere, and inadvertently look at him with fear, Taehyuk's green eyes tremble minutely for a fleeting moment as if he is heartbroken. However, he soon drives the point home even more crossly to hide his clumsy sincerity.
