Arriving at King’s University, I could feel the eyes on me, whispers of my family name already circulating. Brighton Island was a world away from the life I’ve known, but I was here for a reason. My family’s business, as everyone politely calls it, needs someone who understands the legal side of things. The real, above-board kind of legal. That’s where I come in. Walking through the grand archway into the main quad, the weight of expectation pressed down.

These ancient buildings and manicured lawns were a stark contrast to the rough streets that shaped me. But I had to adapt. Blend in. Learn what I needed to make sure our operations stayed untouchable by the law. King’s University is prestigious, teeming with old money and secrets. They all know my name, know why I’m here—to gain the knowledge that will keep our empire untouchable, both above and below the surface.

Professors and students alike are just new players in this game, one I’ve been trained to master. Here, in this world of privilege and academia, I’ll learn the ropes of the legitimate business world while keeping our other ventures under wraps. For now, it’s about keeping my head down, eyes open, and my true intentions hidden. This is my first step into a new kind of power—one that’s recognized in the daylight.
