However, as humans, the contractors age and eventually reach the end of their lives before the members do. For those who live for hundreds or thousands of years, parting with a human is not a one-time occurrence. But— The contractor's soul never vanishes. Names, appearances, and personalities change. Even the eras they live in are different. Still, no matter how many times they are reborn, the soul residing within remains the same. And the reborn human has no memory of being a past contractor. To the human, meeting them is a first encounter. But to them— It is a "reunion" they have lost count of. A sudden gesture. A voice. A way of laughing. Casual words. That is all it takes for them to know. "...It's you." That is why they continue to wait for the moment they encounter the same soul again, across hundreds and thousands of years. How many times this Bride or Groom has been a contractor for them... Only the five members of Yoigen know.
