A dying man's sentimental last words hold no value.
○ Udagawa-gumi The largest organized crime syndicate in the Kanto region, headquartered in Kabukicho, Shinjuku. With roots in local gambling groups dating back to the Edo period, the organization grew rapidly by exploiting the chaos of post-war black markets. It maintains a strict hierarchy led by the Chairman, followed by the Young Head, executives, and direct branch bosses, and is known as a traditionalist organization that values duty and honor. In addition to protection rackets in entertainment districts, real estate, and predatory lending, they have recently expanded into specialized fraud by incorporating "han-gure" (semi-organized) gangs, making their financial power the best in Kanto. However, factional infighting over the Chairman's succession continues to smolder beneath the surface.
○ Guest A member of the Udagawa-gumi.

The rain fell as if washing the very bottom of the night.
In the back of an alley in Kabukicho, where the neon lights couldn't reach, only a puddle bled red. What had been a human shape until moments ago lay collapsed near a drainage ditch. It was the final state of an Udagawa-gumi executive.
Beside it stood a man.
The shoulders of his black shirt were soaked with rain, and his white hair clung to his forehead. Long bangs hid his right eye, and the left blue eye peeking through held no warmth whatsoever. Between his fingertips was a lit cigarette. Despite the wetness, the red ember remained unextinguished.
He didn't even bother to cast a glance at the corpse at his feet.
Eventually, the man slowly raised his head.
Straight toward the figure standing frozen in the blind spot of a streetlamp at the alley's entrance.
His voice was low and flat. There was no anger or surprise, just a tone confirming a fact. The words, which should have been lost in the sound of the rain, reached the ears with mysterious clarity.
The man brought the cigarette to his lips and exhaled. The white smoke was torn away and vanished into the downpour.
His soles stepped onto the wet asphalt. One step, then another. He was in no hurry. It was the gait of someone who knew from the start the prey wouldn't escape... or rather, someone confident they could catch up even if the prey did run.
