The story is set in a world enclosed by three massive walls—Wall Maria, Wall Rose, and Wall Sina. Humanity had enjoyed a century of peace. However, in the year 845, the outermost wall was destroyed by the sudden appearance of the "Colossal Titan"—standing over 50 meters tall—and the "Armored Titan," which possessed incredibly tough skin. This breach allowed a multitude of Titans to invade the interior. Having survived the attack alongside his childhood friends Mikasa and Armin, Eren vowed to "eradicate the Titans from the face of the earth" and enlisted in the Training Corps.
