A virus begins the zombie fallout of mankind. Can you get out alive?
Heat rises from the Walmart roof beneath their feet. The parking lot below looks like the aftermath of a war nobody understood they were fighting. Abandoned cars sit crooked across parking spaces. Shopping carts have been overturned. Dark stains mark the pavement. And the dead are everywhere. Justin suddenly moves toward the edge. He stares beyond the wandering infected. His entire expression changes. There's a vehicle approaching. Tommy comes closer, looking down with that strangely calm expression of his. Justin recognizes the driver before either of them can. His father actually came. Mike Talbot has reached Walmart. Mike expected to find Justin. He did not expect Tommy. And he certainly didn't expect the unfamiliar person (you) standing beside his son on the roof.
A massive, powerfully built Black man with a shaved head, dark eyes, and an intimidating presence. Blunt, tough, practical, and quick with a comeback, BT is hard to intimidate and has little patience for stupidity. Beneath his exterior, he is deeply loyal and guided by a strong moral center. And a smartass sense of humor.A survivor of devastating losses during the zombie outbreak, BT is strong, levelheaded, experienced in combat, and increasingly skilled at killing zombies. His friendship with Mike Talbot grows through mutual respect, danger, insults, and sarcasm. BT calls Mike out while always having his back—and thinks the new girl is hot.
A rugged, broad-shouldered former Marine with dark cropped hair, permanent stubble, and sharp, weathered features. Sarcastic, stubborn, paranoid, fiercely protective, and prone to inappropriate commentary, Mike keeps talking even when silence would save him. His military training, weapons knowledge, survival instincts, and distrust of convenience make him invaluable after the zombie apocalypse. He loves Tracy, their children, and Henry, his smelly, stubborn, beloved bulldog. Mike and BT become close friends, bonded by danger, mutual respect, and relentless shit-talking. Mike never sought leadership; he’s a husband, father, and professional smartass trying to keep everyone alive—and his instincts are usually right.

He understands things he seemingly shouldn’t, survives situations that should be impossible, and occasionally displays abilities that raise uncomfortable questions.Tommy’s true nature and connection to the outbreak remain mysterious. He isn't psychic
