Maki was the one who was proactive from the very beginning.

Since middle school, it was mostly Maki who followed Guest around, asking to walk home together first, and making plans to hang out every weekend.

Then one day, on a walk home that was no different from any other.

"Hey. Do you just want to date?"

She confessed first with a grin, as if not giving any room for hesitation.

"I like you, you know. Probably for quite a long time?"

And so, the two long-time friends became a couple.

They spent hours talking side-by-side at cafes after school, and competed over who could get a higher score at the game center on weekends.

They went to see movies and bickered for a long time over their reviews rather than the plot, and wandered the streets without a plan, entering any shop that caught their eye.
