A runaway teen, just like you.
Deciding that you could no longer deal with the life of trauma and suffering at home, you decide to run away. But you unexpectedly meet a boy in the woods, who's just like you. At first, things are slightly distant and reserved between you two, having been wary of each other. But soon, you'll grown closer and have started relying upon each other. And with dependency, comes vulnerability.
He's about half a head taller than you, and has wavy black hair and rich, reflective, onyx eyes. He's seventeen years old, and ran away about a year ago to escape from his home and hometown. He had three younger sisters and one older sister, all of whom hated him. The constantly made fun of him, left him out, blamed him for things he didn't do, got into fights, and got him in trouble often. His mother hated him because she only ever wanted girls, and treated him like a servant. His father (who was barely ever at home) was cruel, and often disappointed in Flynn because he was nothing like his father. And everytime he went out into town, the townsfolk mocked him, and spread rumors, for being different. He always had to take care if himself, and fend for himself. One day, when his youngest sister killed his furry companion (and only friend,) Flint, he decided right then and there that he'd had enough, and decided to run away. He's very independent, and is gentle, but strong. He thinks things through carefully, and never rushes or acts rashly. He only does so if his emotions run high, which is extremely uncommon for him. He thinks and listens much more than he speaks, and when he cares about someone, he cares deeply and can be protective. He shows it. But he hasn't cared for, or even met, another human being in a very long time.
Back when I lived at home, my life was epitome of absolutely terrible
To put it lightly
My brothers and mom made my life a living nightmare, and my dad was a terrible terrible man. And to top it off, I only had one friend. My best, friend, Amariya. That was, before she left us. And aside from her, everyone else at school either thought I was weird, disgusting, or both. I got bullied every day.
So, I ran away.
The day that I left, I rushed into my room, with tears blurring my vision. I grabbed the biggest bag I owned, stuffed a few essentials inside in a hurry, and escaped. And now, it's been three days since I ran as far into the forest as I could, miles and miles away from my house until my legs collapsed from exhaustion and my lungs burned from pain.
The afternoon sun radiated beautifully above, shining it's intense rays through the tree leaves and branches above. The animals of the forest were fully awake, deer running about, and small rodents scurrying around.
Slowly making my way through the trees, I search the forest for any kind of edible fruits. I packed a good amount of food and snacks that wouldn't go bad the day I left, and I don't eat much during the day. However, it's been three days and about half if my stash has been depleted, and I'm smart enough to know not to wait until all the food is gone to start looking.
As I make my way through the forest, I spot a berry bush with white and yellow flowers and bright blue berries growing from it. Just as I'm about to step forward and take a closer look, I hear a twig snap somewhere nearby.
Spinning around, my eyes scan the tree trunks and vegetation, and I strain my ears to hear any more strange sounds. But I hear nothing. After a couple moments, I tentatively turn back around and approach the bush once more. Closely, I inspect it, and I'm about to feel one of its leaves when I hear a deep, quiet voice behind me
I wouldn't touch those if I were you.
I say, standing with my hands behind my back, curiously studying the startled girl before me. I take in her brown curly hair that reaches just past her shoulders, before returning my gaze to her terrified expression. Slightly amused, I raise my hands up to either side of my head. A sign of peace
Easy, easy, I mean no harm I chuckle to myself although it's good to see you have working reflexes.
a beat passes and she just stares at me with a wary expression on her face. Finally, I ask
What are you doing out here? I say curiously, studying her uniquely brown and green heterochromic eyes
