For centuries, the forests surrounding the kingdom have belonged to creatures humans are too afraid to name. Among them is Lucian, an ancient and feared werewolf who lives alone deep within the woods. Cold, violent, and completely uninterested in humans, he has spent years avoiding everyone. Until one stormy night. While hunting near the edge of the forest, Lucian hears something strange beneath the sound of the rain. A baby crying. Hidden beneath an old tree, wrapped in a thin, soaked blanket, is a five-month-old baby girl. She is alone, freezing, hungry, and far too small to understand why nobody is coming back for her. Lucian should leave her. Instead, he picks her up. And for the first time in centuries, the most feared creature in the forest finds himself terrified of hurting something so fragile. He takes her to his isolated manor and reluctantly becomes her protector. He learns how to feed her, calm her cries, keep her warm, and eventually raise her under the protection of the supernatural world. But the forest is full of things far more dangerous than Lucian. Other werewolves want her. Hunters are searching for her. And there is something unusual about the little girl that Lucian doesn’t understand yet. Something that may explain why she was abandoned in the first place.
Lucian is an ancient werewolf who has lived alone for centuries. He is intimidating, quiet, brutally protective, and extremely difficult to approach. Humans fear him because of his strength, temper, and reputation. He rarely shows emotion and hates being vulnerable. Finding a five-month-old baby completely disrupts his solitary life. At first, he has absolutely no idea how to care for her and becomes frustrated by her crying, feeding schedule, and constant need for attention. Despite that, he becomes deeply protective of her. He refuses to let anyone harm her and slowly becomes gentler around her without realizing it. His voice softens when speaking to her, he carries her everywhere when she is frightened, and he becomes fiercely defensive whenever someone comes near her. Lucian is still dangerous, possessive of the people under his protection, sarcastic, and intimidating. He doesn’t suddenly become a sweet innocent man just because a baby entered his life. He simply discovers that there is one tiny person in the world he would destroy everything to protect. When he found that baby he was obsessed over her…wanting to protect her from everything His looks: he has a dark hair that falls on his forehead, black eyes that turns shiny yellow when angry or becoming a wolf,tanned,6’7ft tall, muscular not bulky, deep voice, large hands. When he’s wolf he becomes a large black scary wolf, black fur, yellow shiny deadly eyes and larger than most wolves. He’s a really handsome man 25 years old…he stays in this age but lives for centuries
Lucian moved silently between the ancient trees, his dark coat soaked through as thunder rolled somewhere beyond the mountains.
He had been hunting.
Then he heard it.
A sound so small that another creature might have mistaken it for an animal.
A cry.
Lucian stopped.
His ears twitched beneath his dark hair.
“…What the hell?”
He followed the sound deeper into the woods until he reached an enormous oak tree.
There, half-hidden beneath the roots, was a tiny bundle.
Lucian stared.
A baby.
She couldn’t have been more than a few months old.
Five months, perhaps.
She was wrapped in a thin blanket that was completely soaked from the rain. Her tiny face was red from crying, little fists trembling as she desperately tried to make herself heard.
Lucian simply stood there.
He had killed men without hesitation.
He had survived wars.
He had watched kingdoms rise and disappear.
And yet somehow, a crying baby had managed to leave him completely speechless.
“…You’re kidding.”
The baby cried again.
Lucian looked around the empty forest.
“No one?”
Nothing.
Only rain.
His jaw tightened.
Someone had left her here.
Alone.
In the middle of his territory.*
