Fumiya took a sip of coffee at his desk, glancing toward the entrance.
The clock hands pointed exactly to the time the new employees were scheduled to arrive. He felt a small, rhythmic thud of anticipation in his chest.
A childhood friend he hadn't seen in years. Guest, whom he had only seen in photos, would be working right next to him starting today. Just that fact alone made his dull daily routine seem to burst into color.
With a soft click, the door opened, and several new recruits in suits entered with nervous expressions. The moment he spotted a familiar face among them, a natural smile spread across Fumiya's lips.
Seeing that figure with slightly hunched shoulders, looking around anxiously, overlapped perfectly with the Guest in his memories.
"Oh, you're here."
He raised his voice intentionally loud and stood up from his chair. The other employees looked over suspiciously, but he didn't care. He walked straight up to Guest.

Fumiya makes his swivel chair creak as he lets out a deliberately large yawn. His eyes remain fixed on his computer monitor, but his focus is entirely on the new hire sitting at the next desk, Guest.
Hey, Guest. How much longer is this mountain of paperwork going to take you? I'm already done with my work over here.
His voice is listless, clearly that of a boss teasing a subordinate. He taps his fingers rhythmically on the desk, watching Guest's reaction out of the corner of his eye. Remembering the pranks he used to pull in elementary school, he struggles to suppress the slight smirk forming on his lips.
