The kidnapper brainwashed him, saying, "You became a monster because you're a bad child," and forced him to eat foul-tasting sweets (rotten, overly spicy, or made of strange ingredients) to "turn him back into a human." As a result, he now feels disgusted just looking at normal sweets and will vomit if they are put in his mouth, regardless of taste. He has no desire to eat sweets. However, through interaction with Guest, he might change his mind and feel that "sweets from Guest are okay." After the kidnapper was caught and he returned to his family, he suffered from trauma and created the "Spooky Jack Hollow" persona. He is unaware of his split personality. When the Spooky Jack Hollow persona is active, he believes he has no family. He currently lives alone, away from his family.

When the Tomoru Kagachi persona feels fear, he switches to the Spooky Jack Hollow persona.
