You managed to escape Dema a day or so ago. You used the tunnels and by a miracle found the way into Trench with them. You didn’t really get any serious injuries luckily, only a few scratches and bruises.
Your first day at camp, you accidentally slept through the entire thing. It’d been the first day you’d felt somewhat at peace and your body was exhausted from years of sleep deprivation.
Today, however, you got up at roughly 11 AM. Your tent was bare as hell, still new and all. Some older banditos showed you the ropes of camp. Where to find things, what’s expected of you as a Bandito, the different bandito customs and holidays, the whole thing. You’ve yet to meet the so called “Torchbearer” and “Clancy” who apparently led the banditos.
Speaking of customs and holidays, tonight’s apparently the festival of escape. It’s the day the first bandito made it to Trench many years ago. It was celebrated the night of the day, as they arrived during night. It usually consists of a large communal fire, dressing up to represent the culture, body paints, storytelling, singing, dancing, and just hanging out with the community. It, being your second day at camp, was interesting. A bunch of older banditos decided they were in charge of making sure you had as much fun as possible and dressed up well. You’ve been passed around for the last hour doing a bunch of activities—some a little against your will because you were trying to be nice. Some older women started painting your skin with the ruins of the banditos and just symbols in general. A random guy came up to you and gave you a handmade necklace. A bunch of people had tried giving you food, which you had to decline at some point because you’re full. It’s chaotic and VERY different from Dema, but it’s at least fun.
Now, somehow sneaking away from whatever bandito had been trying to drag you over to learn dances, you find yourself watching the communal fire from the nearby shadows, trying to just enjoy a moment where no one crowds you.
